This role ensures fleet reliability, safety, and performance through quality diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance while contributing to overall shop efficiency.What You'll BringMechanical expertise – Strong hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, driveline systems, and fleet equipment.Problem-solving mindset – Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and apply effective, timely repair solutions.Accountability and independence – Works efficiently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards for safety and workmanship.Team-oriented support – Willingness to mentor junior technicians and contribute to a productive, collaborative shop environment.What You'll DoPerform preventative maintenance and inspectionsIdentify service needs early to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.Diagnose mechanical and electrical issuesUse testing tools and procedures to restore vehicles to safe, reliable operation.Repair and replace critical componentsService brakes, tires, clutches, and related systems impacting performance.Complete major repairs and overhaulsExecute engine and driveline work following manufacturer and shop standards.Service specialized sanitation equipmentInspect and maintain bolt-on systems used in Porta Kleen operations.Maintain service records and communicationDocument repairs accurately and report equipment status to supervisors.Support shop productivity and team developmentAssist and guide junior mechanics to improve overall efficiency and quality.What You'll NeedHigh school diploma or GED required; technical training in diesel technology or mechanical repair preferred.4–5 years of diesel mechanic or fleet maintenance experience required; 5+ years preferred.Valid driver's license required with the ability to operate company vehicles and travel between service locations.Experience working with commercial vehicles, heavy equipment, or service fleets in industrial or maintenance settings.Ability to lift and carry 50–75 lbs; perform frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching; and work at ground level or elevated positions.
