Diesel Mechanic-Heavy Duty

McCarthy Tire Service is seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic to inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair diesel trucks and trailers while ensuring all vehicles operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and completing quality repairs to support dependable fleet operations.

Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostics, inspections, and preventive maintenance

• Complete Federal DOT inspections and PM services

• Repair and replace major components including air brakes, clutches, transmissions, drivetrains, electrical, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulic, and A/C systems

• Conduct test drives to verify performance and compliance

• Maintain accurate service records

• Maintain shop equipment and manage parts inventory

Experience with Freightliner, Volvo, and International trucks is a plus.

Requirements:

• CDL Class A or B required

• Federal DOT Inspection License preferred

• Must have own tools

• Acceptable MVR

• Must pass drug test and DOT physical
