What Youll Do- Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty diesel trucks and fleet equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance services and scheduled inspections.
- Troubleshoot diesel engine, electrical, and drivability issues.
- Repair and maintain air brake systems, steering, suspension, and driveline components.
- Diagnose and repair DEF, DPF, SCR, and emissions/aftertreatment systems.
- Perform electrical diagnostics using meters, scan tools, and diagnostic software.
- Inspect vehicles to identify safety concerns and potential mechanical failures.
- Complete DOT inspections and related repairs as qualified.
- Perform hydraulic system repairs when applicable.
- Respond to breakdowns and assist with emergency repairs as needed.
- Complete work orders and accurately document repairs, parts, and labor.
- Communicate major repair needs and equipment status to maintenance leadership.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company, OSHA, and DOT safety procedures.
What Were Looking For- 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience preferred.
- Experience working on heavy-duty trucks, commercial vehicles, or fleet equipment.
- Knowledge of diesel engines, air brakes, electrical systems, steering, and suspension.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to use electronic diagnostic equipment and repair information.
- Ability to perform preventative maintenance and identify developing mechanical issues.
- Must have or be willing to obtain required tools.
- Valid drivers license.
- Strong attendance and reliability.
Preferred Experience- Class 78 truck maintenance
- Waste, refuse, roll-off, or vocational truck experience
- Hydraulic system troubleshooting and repair
- ASE Medium/Heavy Truck Certifications
- CDL Class A or B
- DOT Inspector Certification
- Welding and fabrication
- Experience with Cummins, Detroit, Mack, Volvo, International, Freightliner, Peterbilt, Kenworth, CAT, or similar equipment
