On-site Diesel Mechanic position in Louisville, KY supporting a heavy-duty diesel fleet and specialty contractor equipment. This Diesel Mechanic diagnoses, maintains, and repairs jet/vac trucks, combo sewer cleaning trucks, vacuum trucks, street sweepers, and other mounted hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with overtime available.

Key Responsibilities - Diesel Mechanic
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel trucks including jet/vac trucks, combo sewer trucks, vacuum trucks, street sweepers, roll-offs, dump trucks, tractors, trailers, and service trucks. Use diagnostic scanners to pinpoint and resolve faults.
- Service high-pressure water jetting systems, vacuum pumps, blowers, tanks, hose reels, and sewer cleaning equipment to keep units safe and reliable.
- Maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems on trucks and mounted equipment, including diesel engines, generators, compressors, and auxiliary power units.
- Perform preventive maintenance and DOT compliance inspections on jet/vac units, combo units, and sweeper systems including brooms, conveyors, spray systems, and hoppers.
- Document all repairs and PM work to maintain DOT and company compliance records, and perform fundamental welding repairs as needed.
Qualifications - Diesel Mechanic
- Minimum 2 years of experience repairing diesel trucks, cars, or heavy equipment.
- Valid driver's license required; must be willing and able to obtain CDL Class B with Air Brake Endorsement within 180 days of hire (in-house program provided).
- Proficient with heavy-duty diagnostic scanners; working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, vacuum systems, high-pressure water systems, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Fundamental welding ability required (MIG or stick at a basic repair level).
- Must own personal hand tools; willing to obtain and hold a Kentucky state inspection license; able to pass background check and drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications - Heavy Equipment Diesel Technician
- Hands-on experience with jet/vac trucks, combo sewer cleaning trucks, or street sweepers.
- OSHA 10, OSHA 40, or other safety certifications.
- Prior work on contractor, municipal, or waste-fleet equipment.
- Familiarity with sweeper components such as brooms, conveyors, and hopper systems.
- Existing CDL Class B with Air Brake and Tankers Endorsement.
Physical Requirements - Diesel Mechanic
- On-site shop and yard work in Louisville, KY; standing, kneeling, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
- Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly; occasional heavier lifts with team or equipment assistance.
- Work with hand tools, power tools, and overhead lifts; exposure to grease, fuel, hydraulic fluid, and shop noise.
- Climb on, under, and around large trucks and mounted equipment safely throughout the shift.
- Day shift hours 5:55 AM to 4:05 PM, Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed.
