We're looking for a mechanic who can do more than basic preventive maintenance-you should be comfortable diagnosing problems, troubleshooting systems, determining repair needs, and completing repairs with limited supervision.Starting pay is $26.00 per hour, with the ability to negotiate higher compensation based on your experience and qualifications.If your background includes diesel repair, heavy-equipment maintenance, fleet maintenance, hydraulic systems, industrial equipment, agricultural equipment, construction equipment, or similar mechanical work, we want to hear from you.What You'll Be Responsible ForAs a Diesel Mechanic, you will diagnose, service, and repair equipment used to support daily operations. Responsibilities include:Diagnose and repair diesel engines and related componentsTroubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system problemsIdentify the source of equipment failures and determine appropriate repairsPerform scheduled preventive maintenance and equipment inspectionsRepair and replace hydraulic hoses, cylinders, pumps, fittings, and related componentsDiagnose electrical problems involving wiring, batteries, starters, charging systems, and other componentsRemove and replace damaged or worn mechanical partsPerform welding, cutting, fabrication, and mechanical modifications when necessaryInspect equipment for developing problems before they result in breakdownsRespond to equipment failures and prioritize repairs based on operational needsPerform repairs both inside the shop and outdoors in field conditionsTest equipment following repairs to verify proper operationMaintain accurate records of maintenance and completed repairsKeep tools, parts, and work areas organizedFollow company safety requirements and equipment proceduresEquipment You'll Work OnDepending on operational needs, equipment may include:Diesel-powered vehiclesHeavy equipmentMaterial-handling equipmentSpecialized railroad and track equipmentHydraulic systemsElectrical systemsMechanical components and attachmentsThis variety makes the position a strong fit for a mechanic who enjoys troubleshooting different types of equipment rather than performing the same repair repeatedly.What We're Looking ForThis position is intended for an experienced mechanic.
