We are actively hiring a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic for a trusted customer specializing in large-scale excavation, earthwork, and site development projects. This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of heavy construction equipment both in the shop and in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy construction equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, cranes, and support equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and drivetrains
  • Perform preventative maintenance and routine service inspections
  • Respond to field service calls and perform on-site repairs as needed
  • Work closely with equipment operators and project supervisors to minimize downtime
  • Complete repair documentation and maintain accurate service records
  • Order, install, and replace parts and components as required
  • Ensure all equipment meets safety and operational standards

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of experience repairing and maintaining heavy construction equipment
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot and repair equipment efficiently
  • Experience working on excavation, earthmoving, and site development equipment preferred
  • Must provide own basic mechanic tools (specialized tools provided)
  • Valid driver's license required
  • CDL preferred but not required
  • ASE certification, OSHA training, and welding/fabrication experience are a plus
