Are you a certified diesel tech who loves solving complex mechanical puzzles and takes pride in a job well done? Texas Truck N Trailer is seeking a motivated Diesel Mechanic to handle everything from routine trailer service to complex engine overhauls.
We prefer seasoned experience.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Use advanced computer diagnostic equipment to accurately identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and engine issues.
Engine & Powertrain Repairs: Perform minor and major repairs, including full engine overhauls, transmission servicing, and clutch repairs/replacements.
HVAC Service: Diagnose, repair, and recharge heavy-duty vehicle air conditioning and heating systems.
Trailer Service Work: Conduct routine and advanced trailer maintenance, including brakes, suspension, wiring, structural repairs, and door adjustments.
Customer Interaction: Utilize strong customer service skills to explain technical issues, repair options, and estimates to clients clearly and professionally.
Safety & Compliance: Maintain a clean, safe work environment and ensure all repairs meet DOT and industry safety standards.
Qualifications & Skills
MANDATORY Requirement: Must possess a valid Diesel Mechanic Certification (ASE, trade school degree, or equivalent).
Technical Skills:
Proven proficiency in engine overhauls, transmission repair, and clutch replacements.
Strong working knowledge of commercial vehicle HVAC systems.
Experience with trailer service work and general fleet maintenance.
Comfortable using modern diagnostic computers and software.
Experience & Attributes:
Experience: Prior experience in a heavy-duty shop is highly preferred. However, we will consider newly certified candidates who demonstrate exceptional skill, drive, and the ability to work independently right away.
Mindset: A "hit the ground running" attitude—resourceful, efficient, and ready to tackle a busy workload.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Tools: Must have your own basic set of tools appropriate for the trade.
License: Valid driver’s license (CDL is a major plus).
