Diesel Mechanic

Responsibilities Diesel Mechanic responsibilities include:

• Engine diagnostics and repair
• Preventative maintenance
• Brake and suspension work
• Transmission: diagnosing, removing and rebuilding
• Electrical troubleshooting, wiring and repairs
• Hydraulic systems, pumps, cylinders and valves and hoses
• Heavy-duty trucks, trailers and equipment
• Fabricate hoses
• Proficiency with welding, torches etc.
• Roadside emergency
• Onsite diagnostics and repairs

Qualifications

• Dependable
• Over 3 years of hands-experience working on diverse equipment such as semi-trucks, light duty trucks, cars, construction equipment and forklifts.
• Dependable, detail-orientated, and committed to minimizing downtime and keeping equipment road-ready.
• Comfortable working independently in the field.
• Own tools
• Valid drivers license, CDL a bonus
• Able to work flexible hours, Overtime as needed
• Customer service skills
• Available as mobile service when needed
• Capable of managing long active hours in workshop setting
• Bending, lifting of heavy parts and physical work involved
• Exposure to outdoors in varying weather conditions

Overview Diesel Mechanic For compliance purposes for NYS transparency, the expected salary range is $28.00 - $38.00. Compensation will be based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

Mechanic: Performs work in the repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment; performs related work as assigned.
