    Description

    Position Title: Diesel Mechanic


    Position Type: Full-Time


    Pay Rate: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour (DOE)


    Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch)


    Overtime: As needed, based on management request


    Probationary Period: 90 days

    About the Role:

    We are seeking experienced Diesel Mechanics to join our team! As a leader in the marine service industry in the Greater Seattle area, we specialize in providing top-notch service to both commercial and recreational vessels. Our Diesel Mechanics will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of engines, from main propulsion systems to generators, and everything in between.

    You will be responsible for a variety of tasks including engine service, fuel filter replacements, heat exchanger service, minor and major rebuilds, generator service and replacements, shaft & bearing work, engine alignment, motor mount replacements, outboard service, and some rigging services.

    While prior maritime industry experience is not required, we are seeking candidates who have solid experience with both small and large diesel engines.

While most of our work is based in the Greater Seattle area, we also provide mobile services to clients across the West Coast, Alaska, and even internationally when contracted.


    Skills & Experience:

    • Proficient in using all tools related to diesel engine repairs
    • Experience with specialty tools and lifts
    • Ability to create detailed parts lists
    • Skilled at identifying repair vs. replacement needs
    • Capable of executing hazmat procedures for fluid removal, storage, and disposal
    • Experience with new engine installations
    • Leadership abilities, with the capacity to guide a team
    • Knowledge of tool/equipment maintenance and upkeep


    Daily Responsibilities:

    • Utilize ERP software for managing daily work assignments
    • Job costing and project reporting
    • Complete administrative paperwork
    • Communicate with staff and management effectively
    • Provide professional interaction with customers
    • Maintain a clean and organized shop
    • Oversee material purchasing and inventory stocking
