Diesel Mechanic

DIRECT HIRE: Seeking a Diesel Mechanic for an opportunity in the Middletown, DE. area. 

Working Location: Middletown, DE. Pay: $38hr - $45hr (depending on experience)Shift: M - F, 7am - 5pmBenefits: Medical, dental, vision, PTO

Responsibilities:

• Inspect trucks, trailers, and related systems to identify issues• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems• Repair or replace defective parts (engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions)• Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks)• Test drive vehicles to ensure proper operation after repairs• Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot issues• Maintain detailed service records and reports• Follow safety standards and regulations (e.g., DOT compliance)

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED (required)• Technical training in diesel mechanics (preferred)• Certification such as ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) is a plus• 5+ years of experience in heavy-duty vehicle repair• CDL is preferred or able to be obtainedRequired Skills• Extremely strong ability to diagnose• Strong knowledge of diesel engines and heavy vehicle systems• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills• Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail• Basic computer skills (for diagnostics and reporting)• Ability to work independently and as part of a teamPhysical Requirements• Ability to lift heavy parts (50+ lbs)• Stand, kneel, and work in tight spaces• Work in shop environments
