A Diesel Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. This role ensures all machinery operates safely and efficiently, minimizing downtime and supporting operational productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulic systems.
Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues using diagnostic tools.
Maintain repair logs and service records accurately.
Ensure all repairs meet safety and quality standards.
Order necessary parts and maintain inventory as needed.
Adhere to company policies, safety guidelines, and industry regulations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in diesel mechanics preferred.
Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or related role.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, mechanical systems, and diagnostic equipment.
Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
Physical ability to lift heavy parts and work in various conditions.
Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
Preferred Skills:
Welding and fabrication experience.
Familiarity with computerized diagnostic systems.
Strong problem-solving and time management abilities.
