As a Diesel Technician III, you're one of the most trusted techs in the shop. You’ll independently diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of systems on our luxury motorcoach fleet, including heavy-duty diesel engines, power distribution, HVAC, drivetrain, suspension, and air brakes.

This role requires more than just wrench skills. You’re the one who others lean on when problems get complicated or time is tight. Your work sets the bar for safety, reliability, and performance across the fleet. And while you’re not in a formal lead role, your experience and judgment naturally position you as a go-to resource for Techs I and II.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair diesel engines, 12V/24V electrical systems, HVAC, drivetrain, and suspension components

Use advanced diagnostic tools to troubleshoot voltage drops, emissions faults, and full coach performance issues

Address brake system failures, including low air pressure, slack adjuster problems, and braking imbalances

Resolve drivetrain vibration, clunking, or torque loss with precision

Troubleshoot generator systems and manage load distribution across auxiliary systems

Perform tire inspections and alignment evaluations to correct uneven wear and handling issues

Support Diesel Tech I and II team members with guidance and problem-solving

Communicate clearly with leadership, documenting repairs and recommending improvements

Minimum Requirements

Typically requires 5+ years of diesel repair experience—but candidates with fewer years will be considered if they can demonstrate the ability to perform all responsibilities at this level

Proven experience working with Volvo diesel engines

Strong diagnostic skills across multiple systems including electrical, drivetrain, HVAC, and air brakes

Proficient with pneumatic diagrams, wiring schematics, and diagnostic software

Able to work independently and contribute to a high-performing team environment

Availability to work 2nd shift: 2:00 PM – 12:30 AM, Monday through Thursday

Nice to Have

Experience working on luxury motorcoaches or Prevost platforms

Familiarity with HVAC zone controls, fire suppression systems, ABS sensors, and generator troubleshooting

Interest in mentoring junior techs or growing into a Diesel Tech IV role
