                                                       $2,000.00 sign on bonusCome join the Mahoney Environmental Solutions team in Joliet, IL as a Diesel Technician II. The Diesel Technician I will timely and thoroughly complete daily tasks for equipment maintenance and repair.Starting hourly rate: $28-30 (plus shift differential)Sign on bonus to paid out in installments: First payment of $500 to be paid after 90 days and second payment $500 to be paid after 180 days, $1000 at one year.Schedule: Sunday night through Friday morning 9pm to 5:30am Major Function:  Assist Technician I employees in the proper diagnosis, overhaul, adjust and repair all series of truck and trailer equipment and remove and replace major components including but not limited to the following:

    • Engines (Gas and Diesel) – Adjustment, remove and reinstallation, tune-up, as necessary.Transmissions (Manual & Automatic) – Remove and reinstallation, as necessary.
    • Differentials/Power Dividers – Remove and reinstallation, as necessary.
    • Starters/Alternators – Remove, repair, and replace, as necessary.
    • Air Conditioning System – Trained/Certified, component replacement, evacuation, and charging.
    • Fan Clutches – Remove and reinstallation, as necessary.
    • Power Steering Systems – Adjust and repair, as necessary.
    • Electrical/Brake/Colling Systems – Remove, reinstallation, adjustment as necessary (Brake Certified).
    • Clutches – Remove and reinstallation, as necessary. 
    • PTO Systems – Remove and installation of PTO System and related hydraulic components, as necessary.
    • Tires- Remove, install and algin chassis.
    • Engine Electronics (Gas and Diesel) – Diagnose, adjust, and repair, as necessary.

    Technician II employees may or may not require assistance, from time to time, from Technician I employees or applicable supervisors relative to the above listed functions.

    Working Conditions:

    • Work outdoors in different weather conditions.
    • Exposure to used cooking oil odors.

    Specific Duties:Technician II Employees perform the following functions with no assistance:

    • Performance all levels of preventative maintenance service.
    • Perform mechanical and general appearance.
    • Reconditioning of equipment for trade ins.
    • Prepare new equipment for delivery.
    • Identify and determine parts required for repair of disassembled units.
    • Identify warrantable repairs and document appropriately.
    • Maintain work area appearance and safety.
    • Road test vehicles, as necessary.
    • Perform duties in a timely and efficient manner.
    • All duties of lesser job classifications.
    • Follow all safety rules and procedures.
    • Fully participate and support all safety initiatives.
    • Think safety and continually scan the work environment; make suggestions for corrections and improvements.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Training & ExperienceTechnician II Employees should possess the following training and experience:

    • Minimum of four years practical experience or an equipment combination of relate education and experience.
    • Specialized training and/or experience int eh replacement of major components.
    • Be proficient in the use of all tools of the trade (Welding, equipment, power tools and shop machinery).

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Ability to lift, push or pull up to at least 100lbs.
    • Ability to provide the above major functions, specific duties and with the experience listed above.
    • DOT certified medical card.
    • Good driving record.
    • Valid Driver's License with Safety risk rating within Mahoney Environmental acceptable standards.
    • Valid CDL preferred.
    • Superb communication skills (written and verbal).
    • Team player.
    • Multitasker.
