Diesel Technician

7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. M-F Full Time
We are seeking to add a motivated Diesel Mechanic to our growing team. The mechanic position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on all types of diesel engines, pumps, vehicles, equipment and within our company’s fleet.
VERY IMPORTANT--Understand schematics--reading schematics, electrical and hydraulic.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate on various types of vehicles and tools (Dodge 5500-GMC 5500-Hino Ford),Trucks up to 26,000lbs and also small engines.
Must be able to perform major and minor repairs on all types of equipment, including but not limited to, all vehicles, trailers, power-operated equipment as well as hand tools. Company can provide training on concrete pump maintenance and repair.
Repair and replace defective parts, components or system
Responsible for maintaining accurate computer and/or paper records of time and parts used on specific work order tasks.
Repair emergency breakdowns.
Work with individual vehicle/equipment operators to understand and resolve complaints and concerns in regard to proper vehicle/equipment maintenance and operation.
Use diagnostic Tools to test Vehicle Components
Assist in transportation/DOT maintenance and repair procedures. DOT fleet standards are very important to this company.
A Two-year degree in heavy truck mechanics at the vocational level or at least 3 years of experience as a commercial diesel mechanic.
Highschool diploma or GED equivalent required.
Thorough knowledge and experience with but not limited to: hydraulic systems, gas engines, diesel engines, electrical systems, drive trains and various hand tools.
Must have drivers license and access to transportation.
Ability to pass a DOT medical exam.
Ability to pass a drug test and background check.
CDL DRIVERS License a plus
