Aiken Rehabilitation and Care Center is seeking a Dietary Aide | Cook to join our skilled nursing facility in Aiken, SC. This position is responsible for performing both Dietary Aide and Cook duties, supporting daily food service operations, meal preparation, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment in accordance with established dietary policies and procedures.
Pay Rate:$13.00–$14.00 per hour
Shift Available
- Full-Time
- 6:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Every Other Weekend
Dietary Aide Responsibilities
- Assist with serving meals in a timely and professional manner
- Support cooks with meal preparation as directed
- Serve food trays from carts to dining areas and resident rooms
- Return trays to the dishwashing area following meals
- Clean and sanitize worktables, meat blocks, and refrigerators/freezers
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control guidelines
Cook Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals according to planned menus and portion control standards
- Prepare all food served and coordinate food production with meal service schedules
- Follow standardized recipes and special diet orders
- Memorize and adhere to menu items, abbreviations, plate presentation standards, and portion sizes
- Safely operate kitchen equipment and appliances
- Maintain compliance with sanitation and food production regulations
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- One (1) year of dining services experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or similar healthcare setting preferred
- Culinary school training preferred
- Must be 18 years of age or older
