Position Title: Dietary Aide
Hourly: $12-$14
Schedule: 6:00 am - 7:00 pm (2:00-3:30 pm lunch break)
Bi-Weekly Rotation
Week 1: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat.
Week 2: Sun, Wed, Thurs.

Who you are:
- Has effective communication skills, both oral and written
- High school diploma/GED preferred
- Minimum of one year restaurant/senior living or equivalent Dietary Aide experience
- Able to see, hear, and communicate clearly
- Able to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers
- Has empathy for the elderly
- Able to plan and organize work, set up trays and plates in accordance with diet orders and interpret specifications and standards
- Able to stand/walk for 100% of the workday
- Able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. independently
- Able to push and pull tray/bus/transport carts weighing up to 150 lbs. independently
- Able to bend, stoop, reach, and balance frequently throughout the workday
- May be exposed to extreme temperatures from the ovens and freezers
- May be exposed to industrial cleaning chemicals
Summary:
The Dietary Aide is responsible for preparing and serving therapeutic diet trays to health center residents in accordance with posted therapeutic diet menus.
Job Expectations:
- Exemplify at all times Community standards of cleanliness, sanitation and operational organization
- Responsible for adhering to food quality, appearance and presentation standards at all times
- Produce and serve menu cycle programs that are compliant with required Nutritional/Dietary criteria as required by local regulations and correctly prepare diets provided per Policy and Procedure
- Exhibit cooking standards of speed, accuracy, and efficiency
- Demonstrate knowledge in all areas of cooking preparation and production
- Assist with serving of meals and ware washing as necessary
- Represent the community in a warm and inviting manner, which creates a positive marketing environment
- Supports creating a culture where the business decisions made in this position, along with individual employee engagement, drive top-line revenue and occupancy
- Prepares therapeutic desserts and salads as required
- Serves meals in the health center
- Sets up kitchenette(s) in the health center dining room and breaks down same after meal
- Transports hot and cold foods to and from the health center
- Transports all required non-food items to and from the health center
- Documents food temperatures on a regular basis; adjusting temperatures if necessary
- Maintains assigned workstation in a safe and sanitary condition.
- Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor
- Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned
- Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
