About the Job
The Dietary Aide helps prepare and serve meals to our residents. This job includes preparing food, serving meals, cleaning the kitchen and dining areas, and helping make mealtimes enjoyable for our residents.
The Dietary Aide is an important part of the Millstream Commons team. We are looking for someone who is dependable, friendly, willing to help, and treats our residents with kindness and respect.
What You Will Do
Food Preparation
Follow the daily menu.
Help prepare food for meals.
Get food and supplies ready for the next meal.
Follow food safety and kitchen rules.
Help put away food and supplies when deliveries arrive.
Check and store food properly.
Serving Meals
Help set up for meals.
Deliver food carts and trays where they need to go.
Serve food and drinks to residents as directed.
Help residents have a pleasant dining experience.
Listen to residents and report any concerns to your supervisor.
Clear tables, trays, and food carts after meals.
Cleaning
Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and cookware.
Clean counters, sinks, stoves, and other kitchen areas.
Keep the kitchen clean and organized.
Sweep and mop floors when needed.
Take out the garbage after meals and when needed.
Follow all cleaning and sanitation rules.
Working With Others
Work as part of a team.
Work cooperatively with Dietary, Nursing, Housekeeping, and other departments.
Communicate with your supervisor about questions or problems.
Complete simple forms and other paperwork when asked.
Attend required meetings and training.
Follow Millstream Commons policies and procedures.
Help wherever needed in the Dietary Department.

Able to stand, walk, bend, and lift as required for the job.
Willing to help with different tasks throughout the day.
Previous dietary or kitchen experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person.
Other Duties
Other duties may be assigned by the Dietary Supervisor or Director.
