Hours: 10am-2pm, Tuesday - Friday (based on school year and ESY calendar)

Responsible for assisting with preparing and serving food, point of service duties and related cleaning duties to support the agency’s Food Services operations; coordinating work within the department; complying with operating policies and procedures established for the assigned function; communicating with appropriate personnel; responding to inquiries or requests for information; maintaining appropriate records and providing assigned reports.

  • Assures overall sanitation of the kitchen and all designated equipment therein, including completing the daily, weekly, and monthly assigned cleaning list for Martin Luther School-Whitemarsh, and providing assistance as needed at Weinmann and Hess kitchens.
  • Assists with properly washing and storing dishes, tableware, pots, pans, and other utensils used in food preparation and serving.
  • successful mealtime, including meal preparation and serving of meals when needed, as well as dairy food preparation..
  • Ensures compliance with the HACCP Food Safety Program and all local, state, and federal rules and regulations as they relate to the Food Services Department.
  • Completes accurate meal count records.
  • Provides hospitality services for all meetings, parties, special events, and visitors as directed.

Education/Training: A high school diploma or equivalent; specialized training related to food preparation.

Skill(s): Moderate reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; moderate interpersonal relations and communicative skills; knowledge of food preparation and related standards and procedures, including cleaning techniques and chemicals; visual and auditory skills; ability to stand, stoop, bend, reach, climb, and lift items weighing 25 lbs. or less; valid driver’s license.

Experience:  A minimum of one (1) year of related experience normally required.

Position requires a valid drives license.  Mut have reliable transportation.  Public transportation is limited and not convenient to our location.
