Position Summary:

The Dietary Cook/Aide has a variety of tasks in and outside of the Dietary Department. Dietary duties include prepping food, cooking, and serving, as applicable. This position is responsible for preparing food in accordance with established menus, recipes, quality, and sanitation standards. Sanitary duties include cleaning kitchen equipment, dishes, and surfaces as required, and some cleaning duties in the dining area. Works closely with other Dietary personnel to perform all of the daily functions of the department.

Essential Job Duties:

Prepare all food served in the facility in compliance with an approved menu, including those for therapeutic diets that are ordered. Maintain a sanitary, clear, hazard-free work area. Assist in the purchase, storage, and inventory of food supplies. Assist in receiving and storing warehouse deliveries. Perform or assist with operating dishwashing machine, washing and sterilizing dishes, glassware, silverware, and utensils, and washing pots, containers, etc. Clean up assigned work areas/equipment. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Previous commercial dietary experience is highly preferred. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required. Must have/obtain food handler’s permit (new hires must obtain within 14 days of hire). Must have/obtain current CPR card (new hires must obtain within 90 days of hire). ServSafe certification is required (new hires must be obtained within 30 days of hire). Candidate must have flexibility with hours.

Days:

Tuesday, Friday, Saturday; Rotating shifts.

Cross training will be done for all shifts;

Primary shifts will be the closing shifts Friday & Saturday

6:00am – 2:30pm (Opening)

8:30am – 5:00pm (Mid-Day)

10:30am – 7:00pm (Closing)
