Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals in accordance with established recipes, portion control, and specific dietary restrictions.
- Ensure that the quality, presentation, and taste of meals meet the highest standards.
- Collaborate with the Dietary Manager to plan and create well-balanced and nutritious menus.
- Maintain proper inventory levels, and order supplies as needed.
- Uphold a clean and organized kitchen environment while adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Be responsive to special dietary requests or restrictions as necessary.
- Provide guidance and support to kitchen staff as required.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a cook in a nursing home or healthcare facility is preferred.
- Familiarity with therapeutic diets and dietary restrictions.
- Strong culinary skills and a genuine enthusiasm for preparing appetizing, healthful meals.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Effective organizational and time management abilities.
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
