Dietary Cook / Residential Cook

Merced Crisis Residential Unit

Starting Compensation:

17.11 - 20.00 USD Per Hour

Working Location:

Merced, CA

Working Hours/Shift:

On Call, based on applicant's availability (days and shifts available to provide coverage)

What you bring to SBHG:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Licensure & Driving Requirements:

  • A valid California Driver's License and eligibility to meet agency driving criteria. This role may require operating a company vehicle to transport clients.

Experience:

  • One (1) year of dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or related medical environment (preferred).

  • Experience and knowledge in preparing therapeutic diets (preferred).

  • Six (6) months of housekeeping experience in a hospital, hotel, or similar setting.

How you will make a difference

This position has the primary responsibility for preparing and serving meals according to planned menus, including therapeutic and special diets, while accommodating client allergies, dietary restrictions, and preferences. Maintains proper meal schedules and food temperatures to ensure quality and safety. Adheres to all food safety and infection control standards, keeping kitchen and dining areas clean and sanitized. Performs general housekeeping duties, including cleaning floors, furniture, closets, telephones, and vents. Also provides transportation for clients as needed using facility vehicles.

  • Population Served (Capacity): Serving adults, ages 18-59
  • Facility & Setting: 24/7 inpatient voluntary program, 16-bed facility
  • Clinical Services (Core): Rehabilitation/recovery services, including substance use rehabilitation services
  • Length of Stay: 30 day stay
  • Skills & Services: Pre-vocational or vocational counseling and medication evaluation and support services.
