Responsible for working with nutritionists to improve patients well-being by providing dietary support. Provides nutritional care and follows up with patients. Communicates patients nutritional information appropriately to other health professionals.
Principal Accountabilities: • Coordinates patients meal plans with healthcare professionals and nutritionists. • Takes patient meal orders via phone and at the bedside. • Assists with meal selections while taking into consideration cultural and/or religious preferences. • Monitors patient meal tickets - this includes reviewing and modifying as needed to comply with prescribed diet orders. • Processes new diets, changes, tube feedings, and NPO orders efficiently while keeping accurate records. • Performs other related duties as assigned.
