ASPIRUS ST. LUKES ADMINISTRATION BUILDING in Duluth, MN is seeking a DIETITIAN to join our DIABETES-NUTRITION team! Salary Range: $29.26 - $42.43 Hourly Schedule/Hours: DAY ONLY, 8 hours Weekend Requirement: Occasional Weekend FTE: PART TIME, 0.800000 FTE
JOB SUMMARY
The Dietitian is responsible for the evaluation of individual patients medical nutrition therapy needs, communicating nutritional information to medical staff/other health team members, assisting in maintaining operations of the diet office and providing education and counseling to patients and their families/caregivers, community groups and Hospital programs. Responsible for providing contract nutrition services to facilities outside the Hospital as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Four (4) year degree. Experience: N/ Licensure/Certification/Registration: Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Current licensure with MN State Board of Dietetics and Nutrition
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: N/ Experience: N/ Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certified Diabetes Educator
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Current nutrition knowledge; verbal skills; ability to communicate with others in understandable manner; ability to work with a team; courteous, sensitive to others needs; ability to communicate in writing; able to prioritize and organize days work as well as for long term goals and work within time frame; ability to work flexible hours. Ability to effectively and efficiently commute between work sites and if driving private vehicle must provide St. Lukes with a copy of drivers license and proof of insurance.
READING- Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
WRITING- Intermediate: Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, or procedures.
SPEAKING- Intermediate: Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group situations or before groups of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS- Basic Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY- Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
AGE SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES- Skilled at assessment and knowledgeable of growth and development. Provides appropriate care respective to the ages of the patients served per clinical environment.
