Position Summary

Our client is seeking a Director of Digital Banking to lead the strategy, performance, and ongoing evolution of digital banking services across a growing financial institution. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing consumer and business digital banking platforms, electronic payment services, digital payment solutions, card programs, and vendor relationships while ensuring a best-in-class customer experience.

This opportunity is ideal for a strategic leader with a strong background in digital banking, online and mobile banking platforms, and payment services. The Director of Digital Banking will play a key role in advancing digital adoption, enhancing self-service capabilities, managing critical technology partners, and identifying innovative solutions that improve customer engagement and operational efficiency.

 

What You'll Do

• Lead the overall strategy, management, and performance of digital banking channels, including online banking, mobile banking, mobile deposits, and other self-service solutions.
• Oversee digital banking products and services, including bill payment, account management tools, financial wellness solutions, spending insights, credit monitoring features, and related digital offerings.
• Manage ACH and electronic payment operations while ensuring compliance, efficiency, and exceptional service delivery.
• Oversee debit card programs, card controls, referral programs, and credit card-related initiatives.
• Monitor digital banking service levels and vendor performance to ensure platform reliability, uptime, and customer satisfaction.
• Serve as the primary relationship manager for key digital banking, payment, and technology vendors.
• Identify opportunities to increase customer adoption and utilization of digital products and services.
• Develop and execute strategies that enhance customer self-service capabilities and improve the overall digital experience.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, payment solutions, and digital banking trends to support future growth and innovation.
• Partner with operations, technology, compliance, marketing, and executive leadership teams to align digital initiatives with organizational objectives.
• Lead the implementation and enhancement of digital banking products, features, and customer-facing technologies.
• Analyze customer behavior, usage trends, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
• Oversee operational processes related to digital banking services and electronic payments.
• Develop and mentor a team responsible for digital banking operations, payment services, and customer support functions.
• Ensure all digital banking initiatives adhere to regulatory requirements, risk management standards, and internal controls.
• Support strategic planning efforts and contribute to the long-term digital transformation roadmap.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
• 10+ years of experience within banking, financial services, digital banking, payments, or related areas.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams and business functions.
• Strong experience with online banking and mobile banking platforms.
• Experience managing digital banking vendors and third-party technology providers.
• Knowledge of ACH processing, payment services, debit card programs, and digital banking operations.
• Experience leading digital product initiatives focused on customer adoption and engagement.
• Strong understanding of banking regulations, risk management, and compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to manage vendor relationships, service-level agreements, and platform performance expectations.
• Experience leading strategic initiatives, digital transformation efforts, and customer experience improvements.
• Strong analytical, project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Banking industry experience strongly preferred.
• Experience overseeing online and mobile banking platforms in a leadership or senior management capacity.
• Knowledge of digital payments, P2P payment solutions, real-time payments, and emerging financial technologies.
• Experience driving adoption and utilization of digital banking products and services.
• Familiarity with treasury management services and payment ecosystems.
