  • Scheduling static posts for Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms to help promote exhibits, programs, and other priorities

  • Providing live social media coverage at occasional events

  • Web/Email Marketing

  • Producing, scheduling, and publishing eNewsletter content using Mailchimp

  • Assisting the Web Content Coordinator with website updates using WordPress

Intern qualifications:

  • Communications, history, English, film, or related area of study preferred
  • Interest in digital communications and marketing
  • Strong storytelling and communication skills
  • Ability to identify target audiences, work with a team to create strategy, and think creatively when communicating concepts
  • Knowledge of social media scheduling software, email marketing platforms, or website content management systems a plus
  • Availability to attend occasional evening or weekend events

Learning objectives:

  • Gain experience in the field of nonprofit digital communications
  • Strengthen skills in writing and editing, as well as in creating content for video, social media, and email marketing
  • Gain an understanding of how to plan, execute, and evaluate blog posts, social media campaigns, and email marketing campaigns
  • Produce a wide-ranging final portfolio that highlights key projects produced throughout the internship

The applicant must provide a résumé and a short statement of interest and/or intent in applying for the internship. For unpaid internships, an unofficial college or university transcript must also be uploaded with the application. For questions, please contact Kat Bourek at kbourek@mohistory.org.
