Job Title: Digital Communications Systems Technician
Location: Alhambra, CA 91803
Duration: 12 Months
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 10-hour shifts (4/40 schedule)

 
Job Summary:
Seeking a Digital Communications Systems Technician with experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting telecommunications and network communication systems. The role involves supporting PBX systems, VoIP platforms, cloud-based communication services, telephone infrastructure, and cabling systems. Responsibilities include system installations, moves/adds/changes, repairs, testing, troubleshooting, and coordination with vendors and internal stakeholders.
 
Required Experience & Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience supporting and maintaining digital telephone PBX and key switching systems, including at least 1 year at a journey-level capacity.
  • 5+ years of experience with NEC PBX systems, Nortel Norstar Key Systems (MICS, Call Pilot, trunk/station modules, RAD), and VoIP technologies such as Cisco and Microsoft Teams Voice.
  • Experience installing, configuring, testing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications equipment and infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of voice and data cabling, including copper and fiber-optic installations, patch panels, and structured cabling standards.
  • Ability to troubleshoot telecommunications circuits, VoIP systems, cloud communication platforms, and network connectivity issues.
  • Experience supporting cloud communication tools such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and WebEx.
  • Strong customer service, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

 
Education & Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid California Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to travel extensively within Los Angeles County.
  • Ability to lift equipment, work on ladders, and perform physical installation activities.

 
Additional Information:

  • California residents only.
  • Travel required throughout Los Angeles County.
  • Occasional after-hours and overtime work may be required.
  • Interviews will be conducted via Microsoft Teams.
