    Title: DIGITAL DESIGN ENGINEER (FPGA)

    PROJECT DESCRIPTION

    Our client, a leading federal defense contractor, is seeking a Digital Design Engineer to join the engineering team developing advanced military-grade electronics systems. The role involves digital electronics design, FPGA development, circuit design, and cross-disciplinary collaboration across systems and software engineering teams.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Design digital electronics including FPGA development and circuit design
    • Own definition, design, verification, and documentation
    • Determine architecture, system simulation, and detailed design approach
    • Define module interfaces and all aspects of device design and simulation
    • Evaluate process flow including high-level design, synthesis, place and route, timing, and power utilization
    • Create test and simulation plans establishing functional criteria
    • Verify test results and analyze performance; perform verification and validation on target hardware
    • Provide leadership on inter-disciplinary design efforts

    MANDATORY SKILLS

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience (or Master's with 3+ years)
    • Willingness to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
    • Knowledge and experience with all phases of circuit card design
    • Ability to explain complex designs using non-technical terms
    • Ability to reverse engineer existing designs and update functionality for new requirements
    • Experience collaborating with Systems and Software Engineering teams
    • Understanding of System-On-Chip (SoC) design with embedded processor on FPGA
    • Strong initiative, independent judgment, and ability to handle complex assignments with minimal direction

    NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

    • Application programming experience on embedded processors
    • Ability to identify opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation
