PositionDigital Engineering Technician - Entry LevelLocationResearch Triangle Park, NCDuration12 MonthsTotal Hours/week40Shift1st ShiftClientMedical Devices CompanyJob CategoryEngineeringDepartmentDigital EngineeringLevel of ExperienceEntry LevelEmployment TypeContract on W2 (Need US Citizens or GC Holders or GC EAD or OPT or EAD or CPT)Work Days/HoursMonday through Friday (8am to 5pm)Job DescriptionThe Digital Engineering Technician works as part of the client Digital Engineering (DE) 3D Printing & Prototyping team, contributing to next‑generation medical product development and enhancing the current product portfolio.General FunctionThe 3D Printed Part Finisher will provide quality “finished” 3D printed parts and/or components/fixtures to business customers in a safe and timely manner.Assist the 3D Printing & Prototyping management team by performing routine maintenance and contributing to R&D of 3D printing applications where required.Maintain a dynamic work environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.ResponsibilitiesClean 3D printed parts according to defined standard operating procedures.Hand finish 3D printed parts using defined techniques while maintaining feature geometry and checking tolerances on key dimensions.Use precision measurement devices (e.g., digital calipers, GOM) to ensure dimensional accuracy.Operate 3D printing equipment when performing routine and rotational maintenance to produce accurate medical device prototypes.Maintain proficiency in viewing model files using CAD software (e.g., Magics by Materialise).Maintain finishing supplies in the laboratory and evaluate special supplies, techniques, and equipment that may improve quality part finishing.Perform work following standard operating procedures.Work in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices, observe all BDTI Safety and Quality Standards, and maintain laboratory notebooks according to BDTI SOPs.Wear proper safety equipment where required.Contribute as needed in the R&D of 3D printing applications.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh school diploma is required.Experience with 3D printed part post‑processing or machining or a combination of equivalent education and experience is preferred.Experience with 3D printing (SLA, DLS, DLP, PolyJet, FFF) is a strong plus.Proven computer experience, including CAD software, is desired.Organized and time‑oriented individual who can contribute to quick turnaround while ensuring fine detail and accuracy.Open to exploring new techniques related to 3D printing & prototyping or DE‑related areas.Proven ability to work successfully in both team and individual settings.Clear verbal and written communication skills.Ability to lift at least 40 lbs.Key Attributes to Be Successful in the RoleSelf‑starter who proactively seeks and defines next tasks.Effective team player with clear communication skills (written & verbal).Attention to detail and willingness to identify and alert others to problems.Enjoys working with hands, cleaning, sanding, and handling small plastic 3D printed parts.Willingness to explore new post‑processing techniques and take full ownership of tasks.Dedication and ownership of tasks are musts.#J-18808-Ljbffr
