A nationally recognized professional services firm is seeking an experienced Senior Digital Forensics & Expert Witness Consultant to support complex litigation, regulatory matters, corporate investigations, and digital forensic engagements.
This role is ideal for a highly experienced forensic professional who combines deep technical expertise with substantial expert witness experience. You will lead forensic investigations, analyze digital evidence, prepare defensible expert reports, and communicate highly technical findings to attorneys, executives, regulatory bodies, and courts.
What You'll Lead:
Conduct complex digital forensic investigations involving endpoint activity and user behavior analysis.
Analyze forensic artifacts and audit trails to reconstruct user activity and system events.
Evaluate the integrity, authenticity, and defensibility of digital evidence.
Develop detailed forensic reports suitable for litigation, arbitration, and regulatory proceedings.
Partner with legal teams throughout discovery, case preparation, and investigative activities.
Provide expert witness services, including depositions and courtroom testimony.
Review opposing forensic reports and prepare technical rebuttal analyses.
Validate forensic methodologies, evidence preservation, and chain of custody procedures.
Present technical findings to attorneys, executives, regulators, and non-technical stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS
10+ years of experience in digital forensics, cyber investigations, or incident response.
Extensive experience performing endpoint forensic analysis and user activity reconstruction.
Deep understanding of forensic evidence handling, preservation, and chain of custody.
Experience supporting complex litigation, regulatory investigations, or legal discovery.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience using enterprise digital forensic platforms and investigative toolsets.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Experience supporting government agencies, law firms, or large consulting organizations.
Prior consulting or expert advisory experience.
Hands-on experience with industry-standard forensic tools such as EnCase, FTK, Magnet AXIOM, X-Ways, Cellebrite, Volatility, or comparable technologies.
Professional certifications such as GIAC (GCFA/GCFE), EnCE, CFCE, CISSP, or similar.
Previous deposition or courtroom testimony as an expert witness.
