The Digital and IT Analyst is an intermediate-level technical role supporting Parker-Hannifin's cyber defense program within Detection & Response / Cyber Security Operations. This position supports security event monitoring, incident investigation, response coordination, cyber engineering activities, and the ongoing improvement of security tools and operational processes.

The analyst works under limited supervision to help identify, assess, escalate, and respond to security threats while supporting the effectiveness of security technologies and controls. This role collaborates with IT, security, infrastructure, application, identity, vendor, and business teams to strengthen detection capabilities, improve response efficiency, and help protect Parker-Hannifin systems and data.

Scope, Supervision, and Interaction

Direct Reports: No

This position collaborates with Technical Analysts, Senior Technical Analysts, IT Security team members, infrastructure, network, endpoint, application, identity, and business teams, as well as vendors and end users.

Location: Cleveland, OH

Essential Functions

• Perform SOC event handling: Monitor, triage, investigate, document, escalate, and coordinate response for security events and incidents from detection through resolution.
• Support cyber engineering and security tool operations: Assist with the configuration, tuning, testing, maintenance, and operational support of security technologies such as SIEM, EDR, SOAR, vulnerability management, email security, identity, logging, and monitoring platforms.
• Contribute to detection and response improvement: Support the development and refinement of detections, playbooks, runbooks, dashboards, reports, automation workflows, and operational processes that improve SOC effectiveness, visibility, and response efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of related IT experience.
• Working knowledge of IT security, security operations, infrastructure, endpoint, identity, or related technical support processes.
• Familiarity with security monitoring concepts and common telemetry sources such as authentication logs, endpoint events, DNS/proxy logs, email security alerts, network events, or cloud/security alerts.
• Ability to perform structured analysis, prioritize work based on severity, urgency, business impact, and risk, and make appropriate escalation recommendations.
• Ability to document technical findings, actions taken, investigation details, and outcomes clearly and accurately.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize technical information for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across technical teams, business users, and vendors.
• Demonstrated learning agility, adaptability, problem-solving ability, and ability to manage changing priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry-recognized cybersecurity certification such as Security+, CySA+, SC-200, GCIH, GCIA, or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with security operations tools such as SIEM, EDR, SOAR, vulnerability management, email security, identity platforms, logging tools, or security case management systems.
• Experience supporting security alert triage, incident investigation, escalation procedures, evidence handling, or response SLA workflows.
• Exposure to cyber engineering activities such as security tool configuration, tuning, testing, integrations, monitoring improvements, detection logic, control validation, or platform enhancements.
• Experience developing or maintaining runbooks, SOPs, playbooks, detection notes, dashboards, reports, knowledge articles, or investigation summaries.
• Working knowledge of common investigation techniques, including alert scoping, IOC correlation, impacted asset identification, and hypothesis-driven analysis.
