Digital Marketing Manager

Overview

The Digital Marketing Manager serves as Auburn University at Montgomery's leader for organic social media marketing, responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive social media strategy that strengthens AUM's brand, engages prospective and current students, and supports enrollment growth. Working collaboratively with the Marketing & Communications team, Enrollment Management, Creative Services, and Academic Affairs, this position transforms university stories into engaging, authentic content that builds community and inspires action.

This role leads AUM's organic social media presence across all major platforms by developing content strategies, managing editorial calendars, growing online communities, analyzing performance, and identifying emerging trends and opportunities. While social media is the primary focus, the Digital Marketing Manager also collaborates with the broader marketing team to integrate social media into university-wide marketing campaigns, enrollment initiatives, digital communications, and brand storytelling.

By combining creativity with analytics and strategic thinking, the Digital Marketing Manager ensures AUM delivers meaningful digital experiences that strengthen brand awareness, increase engagement, and support recruitment and enrollment goals.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, project management, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience managing social media marketing/communications projects or campaigns.
• Proven ability to lead complex, deadline-driven projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred:

• Higher education or enrollment marketing experience.
• Familiarity with platforms such as ClickUp or similar project management tools.
• Experience developing content strategies for Gen Z audiences.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Demonstrated ability to self-motivate, work independently and in teams, and be flexible within a fast paced and changing environment
• Proven project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects while delivering on established and tight timelines
• Excellent presentation and communications skills
• Demonstrated proficiency in spreadsheets and reporting
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite a bonus
• Knowledge of Click-Up, Page proof, Teams, or related project management/ software required
