Generative AI Associate Product Manager / Business Analyst

About the Role

Wells Fargo is seeking a Generative AI Associate Product Manager / Business Analyst to support a strategic Generative AI initiative within the Commercial Banking Line of Business. This is a hybrid Product + Analytics role combining business analysis, product ownership, and delivery execution.

You will partner closely with Product Managers, Engineering, Data Science, UI/UX, and QA teams to translate complex business and AI capabilities into scalable, high-quality solutions. The role requires strong analytical skills, technical fluency, and hands-on experience driving Agile delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Product Backlog & Delivery Management
  • Support the Product Manager in maintaining and prioritizing the product backlog
  • Decompose prioritized features into functional and non-functional user stories for Engineering and Data Science teams
  • Identify and document all components required to deliver features (UI, backend services, APIs, GenAI models)
  • Write clear, concise user stories with defined acceptance criteria and Definition of Done
  • Participate in sprint planning, grooming, and backlog refinement sessions
  • Provide input on sprint goals, story prioritization, sizing, and sequencing based on team capacity and velocity
Product Execution & Agile Delivery
  • Quickly understand feature requirements across technology, data, and GenAI components
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Data Science teams to validate solution approaches with consideration for scalability, performance, and extensibility
  • Partner with UI/UX teams to design effective and user-centered interfaces
  • Identify cross-team dependencies and coordinate delivery sequencing across teams
  • Perform Product Owner validation for stories, releases, and launches
  • Coordinate with QA teams to ensure adequate testing coverage
  • Lead UAT activities, issue tracking, defect prioritization, and resolution
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
  • Facilitate communication among cross-functional stakeholders to remove blockers and resolve dependencies
  • Communicate sprint progress, risks, and delivery status
  • Document meeting notes, decisions, and action items
  • Maintain a centralized repository for project and product artifacts
Data Product Ownership (GenAI Focus)
  • Define and document data requirements for Generative AI use cases
  • Evaluate and source data across multiple internal systems
  • Collaborate with other Product Owners on data integration and platform capabilities
  • Perform source-to-target data mapping across systems
  • Validate data quality and completeness across data sources
  • Create data integration, API, and batch processing user stories
  • Define testing criteria for data pipelines and integrations
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of experience in Product Ownership, Business Analysis, or Technical Analysis
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience translating complex requirements into actionable Agile user stories
  • Understanding of system architecture, application flow, APIs, and database structures
  • Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL data stores
  • Experience working with JSON, API contracts, and Swagger documentation
  • Familiarity with web applications, API development, UI/UX concepts, and application performance
  • Experience across the full SDLC, including development, testing, and release
  • Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, Figma, and Postman
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on AI/ML or Generative AI products, preferably in Financial Services
  • Familiarity with large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and responsible AI frameworks
  • Strong understanding of modern system architecture and technical specifications
  • Experience working with Teradata, MongoDB, or other document databases
