Location: Brooklyn NY (3 Days onsite 2 days remote)

Scheduled Work Hours: Normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 35 hours/week (not including mandatory unpaid meal break after 6 hours of work)

Job Type: Contract

Duration: 12 Months

Pay Rate: $90 - $100 per hour

SCOPE OF SERVICES:

The Senior Project Manager will work with the NYC Digital Service team to oversee the entire project lifecycle from planning, tracking and delivery with quality and on time. The project manager will serve as key communication link between internal and external stakeholders, develop and own delivery on timelines and help facilitate meetings to resolve issues and keep work aligned to deliver results.

TASKS:

• Work with team to define project objectives and create and maintain detailed work plan
• Lead and manage tasks within the team and plan communication cadence within team and with external stakeholders
• Monitor project activities, document agreements, communicate to project stakeholders, and escalate issues on a timely basis
• Maintain project documentation ensuring alignment with objectives
• Set up and manage user stories in Azure DevOps project

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Note:

Candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered.

1. Minimum of 8 years of experience managing cross channel digital projects

2. Demonstrated hands-on experience delivering quality websites and web features from inception to launch including creating project schedules, sharing updates, set expectations and manage stakeholders

3. Ability to proactively plan and collaborate with diverse stakeholders in a complex environment and elevate issues for resolution

4. Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior leadership and key stakeholders.

5. Coach team to remove blockers identify dependencies that may slow the team down

6. Expertise in software delivery best practices with proficiency in Azure DevOps or similar system for ticketing and issue resolution

7. Strong communication skills to collaborate with leadership, experts, and decision makers cross-functionally and across teams, coaching teams to drive outcomes

8. Knowledge of agile ways of working and modern software development practices

9. Experience setting up project management tooling for teams

10. Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task

11. Manage quality assurance testing according to city process

12. Manage and execute software release process 13. Interface with technical teams and have experience working with them.

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

• Background in journalism, writing or marketing with keen attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and familiarity with SEO
• Proficient in Content Management Systems (CMS) like AEM and SEO tools.
• PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 certification is highly preferred
• Understanding of common project management tooling such as Airtable, Azure, Jira, etc.
• Experience managing budgets and resources
