    Description

The Technical Trainer III is responsible for leading the development, design, and implementation of comprehensive technical content and training materials for both internal and external customers. This role includes delivering on-site and remote client support by providing expert training programs and advising on technical training materials. The Trainer III collaborates with product management, engineers, and program managers to ensure training programs are effective and aligned with company objectives.

    The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support. IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs to consistently exceed expectations - with an unrivaled record of on time and on (or under) budget deliveries.

    Responsibilities:

    • Train and mentor new team members in the effective use of key systems, including Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Tracking+ (as applicable), and internal policies and procedures.
    • Instruct personnel on compliance with FAA Part 145 repair station regulations, DCMA standards, AS9100 quality management requirements, OSHA safety rules, as well as company-specific Flight Operating Procedures (FOPs) and Ground Operating Procedures (GOPs).
    • Demonstrate expertise in supporting tools and software such as Palantir, Shop Floor (if applicable), MES modules (including Non-Conformance, and Unplanned Work, and Dispositions), and AM2 or other maintenance tracking and scheduling platforms.
    • Guide staff in locating and utilizing operational resources, including the Operations Resource Center (ORC) and Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM).
    • Utilize and provide instruction on digital tools including eDR, SNC Chat, OneSNC.ai, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Copilot, Command Media Center, and IAS Engineering Specifications.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant systems, software, and regulatory requirements to ensure best practices in training and operational support.

    Qualifications You Must Have:

    • Bachelor's degree in aviation technology, engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
    • 4+ years of experience in technical training or a related field
    • Advanced skill with e‑learning development tools and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
    • Strong verbal and technical written communication skills
    • Ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines and manage multiple projects effectively
    • High attention to detail, strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills
    • Knowledge of FAA Part 145, DCMA standards, AS9100, internal policies, OSHA rules
    • Proven experience with PLM, MES, Tracking+ systems
    • Familiarity with company-specific FOPs and GOPs
    • Expertise using and training others on tools/software such as:

    Palantir, Shop Floor (if applicable), MES modules (Non-Conformance, Unplanned Work, Dispositions), AM2 or similar maintenance tracking/scheduling tools

    • Ability to navigate and teach operational resources (ORC, AMM)
    • Strong coordination skills with Maintenance Planners and cross-functional teams
    • Proficiency with digital tools including:

    eDR, SNC Chat, OneSNC.ai, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Copilot, Command Media Center, IAS Engineering Specifications

    • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and mentoring ability
    • Strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate training and compliance records
    • Commitment to staying current with industry systems, software, and regulations
    • Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting ability
    • Prior experience in an aircraft maintenance or modification environment (highly desirable)
    • Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance required

    Qualifications We Prefer:

    • Previous experience serving as a subject matter expert or technical lead on systems implementation or process improvement projects
    • Prior experience with digital transformation initiatives
    • Working knowledge of additional regulatory standards
    • Experience designing, developing, or delivering technical training programs for adult learners in an aviation or technical environment
    • Advanced proficiency with analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for data-driven decision making
    • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices
    • Prior experience with change management and user adoption in complex technical environments
    • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority
    • Active A&P (Airframe & Powerplant) license, FAA Inspection Authorization (IA), or other relevant certifications
    • Strong track record of successful collaboration with Engineering, Quality Assurance, and IT teams
    • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or other government/military aviation programs
    • Evidence of continuing education, professional development, or participation in industry organizations

    Essential Functions:

    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
    • Ability to travel as required.
    • Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment.
