Position Summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Dimension Control Technician 1 to support its Tooling Department. In this role, you will fabricate, assemble, inspect, and verify precision tooling, jigs, fixtures, and gauges while supporting advanced aerospace manufacturing programs requiring exact tolerances and precision metrology.

Key Responsibilities

Lay out, fabricate, and assemble standard and non-standard jigs, fixtures, tool masters, and tooling gauges.

Interpret tool design drawings and determine work methods and sequences.

Operate optical and metrology equipment to verify alignment, fit, and dimensional accuracy.

Design and develop holding devices, jig details, and fixture components.

Prepare operational sequences and shop drawings for fabrication and assembly.

Create reference systems and working build models.

Monitor manufacturing quality and ensure compliance with engineering specifications and process controls.

Basic Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience with tool building and laser tracking in a manufacturing environment.

Experience creating reference systems and working build models.

Ability to lift and move objects up to 35 lbs and work on ladders.

Ability to work indoors and outdoors in warehouse and manufacturing environments.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe PDF.

Current Active DoD Clearance required to apply.

Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with advanced computer-aided metrology systems, including:

Laser Trackers

Articulated Arms

6DoF (Six Degrees of Freedom) Scanners

Reverse engineering and model-building experience.

Knowledge of Integrated Airframe and Aerostructure systems.

Experience with:

Verisurf X

Spatial Analyzer (SA)

Maya Matrix

Build!IT
