As a Dimensional Metrology Inspector II, you are the steady hand that keeps our manufacturing quality on target. You’ll safeguard customer, industry, and regulatory requirements by validating parts and processes at critical checkpoints and partnering with production to drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
What your day looks like
Start of shift: Review work orders and prints, plan your in‑process and first‑piece inspections, and set up gauges, calipers, micrometers, and test equipment.
On the floor: Check first‑article parts, verify dimensions and tolerances with precision tools and the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), and compare results to GD&T and blueprint requirements.
Quality gatekeeping: Identify nonconformities, document defects, and communicate findings to operators and quality leadership so issues are contained quickly.
Collaboration: Work alongside production to root‑cause quality issues, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.
Data you can trust: Record measurements, test results, and corrective action details with accuracy; prepare clear inspection reports for quality management and production teams.
Process oversight: Monitor production against established quality parameters, ensuring conformance to company policies, customer specifications, and industry standards.
Compliance mindset: Follow all safety requirements and uphold AS9100D, ISO 13485, and other applicable standards.
Continuous improvement: Participate in initiatives that elevate quality and efficiency across the operation.
