A day in the life

You arrive on the floor with a new machined component ready for launch. First stop: building and refining CMM programs in PC-DIMS and MCOSMOS. You choose the right fixturing and tooling, set up the part, verify stability, and map out a robust inspection strategy driven by drawings, CAD models, and specifications. You validate the system with MSA and gage R&R, then translate results into clear, auditable documentation—control plans, inspection plans, FAI, and PPAP tailored to customer requirements.

Throughout the day, you collaborate closely with design engineers, machinists, and quality control teammates to verify that every dimension meets intent. You review inspection and test results against specs, ensure process control documentation aligns with requirements, objectives, and contracts, and keep your work area spotless and safe. When priorities shift, you pivot quickly—and you’re ready for other duties as assigned.

What you'll own

  • Develop and edit CMM programs using PC-DIMS and MCOSMOS for precision machined components
  • Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, standards, and specifications to define and optimize inspection strategies
  • Select and apply appropriate fixturing, tooling, and setups to ensure repeatable, accurate measurements
  • Review and verify inspection/testing results for conformance with drawings and specifications
  • Perform MSA and gage R&R to validate measurement systems
  • Create and maintain quality documentation: control plans, inspection plans, FAI, and PPAP per customer requirements
  • Ensure projects and process control documentation meet requirements, objectives, and/or contract obligations
  • Partner cross-functionally with engineers, machinists, and quality personnel to resolve issues and drive improvement
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area according to company safety guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned

How you'll succeed

  • Previous experience as a Quality Engineer (or similar role); engineering degree preferred
  • 3+ years of CMM programming experience
  • Expertise in GD&T, blueprint reading, and inspection methodologies
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100
  • Proven background in quality inspection and assurance within manufacturing
  • Fluent with statistical tools such as Minitab and SPC for data analysis
  • Thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative team player with a positive, excellence-driven mindset
  • Self-directed; able to drive initiatives and achieve objectives with minimal supervision
