Dimensional Quality Control Technician
Step into a hands-on role where your eye for detail keeps production on track and customers confident. You’ll serve as a key partner to our Quality Control and Production teams, verifying parts against specs, documenting what you find, and ensuring clear, timely feedback for rework when needed.
Your day at a glance
- Review customer specifications and in‑house drawings, then plan the inspection approach for each job.
- Interpret blueprints to determine critical features and inspection points.
- Measure accurately using both imperial and metric tape measures.
- Identify defects or nonconformances and communicate corrective or rework needs directly to production staff.
- Capture results in inspection reports and keep quality records organized and up to date.
- Operate common precision tools—calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, and similar instruments—to verify dimensions.
- Collaborate with manufacturing to help resolve quality concerns originating from the shop, customers, or suppliers.
- Juggle multiple inspections while maintaining accuracy and unwavering attention to detail.
What you’ll bring
- Hands-on experience in manufacturing or quality inspection.
- Proficiency reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Comfort reading measurements in both standard and metric units.
- Skill with basic inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, etc.).
- Strong documentation habits and keen attention to detail.
- Ease working on a busy production floor.
Nice to have
- Solid computer skills for documentation and reporting.
- Background in fabrication, metal manufacturing, or production quality.
