Dining Cashier

General Definition:

• Responsible for dining room money drawer, and paying out tips to all staff members.

Essential Job Functions:

• Signs out money from a cash recycling machine daily, based on guest volume for the day.
• Counts starting bank and ending bank to ensure correct amount of cash is being drawn and returned each day.
• Helps at podium by assisting in seating guests for the day.
• Handles cash and makes correct change for waitstaff as needed.
• Pays out tips and gratuities to waitstaff, bussers, bartenders, and Barback daily according to their individual tip amounts for each day.
• Reconciles cash drawers and cash sheets.
• Organizes and delivers paperwork to Silks Manager.
• Informs manager of any problems during shift either verbally or in writing before clocking out for the day.
• Consistently and accurately follows cash handling and financial responsibility procedures.
• Dependability, good attendance, and occasional overtime required.
• May be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or mandatory work days as scheduled.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college/technical; or 1 years related experience and/or training; or combination.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Possess good organization skills.
• Basic math.
• Knowledge of US currency and all its denominations.
• Ability to communicate and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to interact positively with coworkers and management.
• Ability to prioritize time so that work is accomplished on a dependable basis; is reliable and committed to meeting schedules and deadlines.
• Ability to demonstrate initiative, including being proactive and resourceful, working independently with minimum supervision.
• Ability to win confidence and gain respect through consistent demonstrations of personal courtesy, tact and timely responsiveness.

Training:

• One year of cashier experience required

Licenses/Certifications/Other:

• Must be able to pass a background check and receive a license or permit from any Regulatory Agency if applicable to perform the essential job functions
