Position Overview
Join us in the summer of 2026 and help us continue the legacy of fostering creativity, nurturing talent, and celebrating the individual artistic journey at Interlochen. We are seeking dedicated and proactive Dining Room Managers who embody our core values and are committed to nurturing young artists. As a Dining Room Manager as part of our Dining Services team, youll play a major role in leading the Dining Room area while ensuring meal times run smoothly while fully immersing yourself in the unique environment that only a summer camp can offer.
What You Get To Do
- Team Supervision:
- Manage, train, and support dining room staff, including servers, bussers, and hosts.
- Schedule shifts and assign daily tasks to team members.
- Monitor staff performance and provide feedback or coaching as needed.
- Customer Service:
- Greet guests, address concerns, and ensure a welcoming dining experience.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries or complaints and resolve issues.
- Ensure that guests' needs are met, such as accommodating dietary restrictions or special requests.
- Service Coordination:
- Oversee the flow of service to ensure smooth and timely meal delivery.
- Coordinate with the kitchen staff to ensure proper communication of orders and any special instructions.
- Manage seating arrangements and table rotations to optimize efficiency.
- Quality Control:
- Ensure dining room cleanliness and organization, including table setups and dcor.
- Inspect food presentation and service to maintain quality standards.
- Enforce safety, hygiene, and sanitation policies.
- Inventory and Supplies:
- Monitor dining room supplies, such as utensils, napkins, and condiments.
- Order or restock items as needed.
- Keep track of breakage or loss of service items.
- Problem-Solving:
- Handle operational issues, such as staff shortages or unexpected guest volume.
- Manage any emergencies or disruptions calmly and efficiently.
- Administrative Duties:
- Maintain daily records, such as staff schedules, guest counts, or feedback logs.
- Collaborate with management to implement new policies or improve services.
- Assist in planning and executing special events or private dining experiences.

- Flexible start and end dates for the summer season.

This is a seasonal position located in Interlochen, Michigan.Housing is not included for this position, and employees are responsible for arranging their own accommodations.

- Must be able to work under busy and sometimes stressful conditions
- Must be able to work weekends
- 2 years experience of management in a food service facility is preferred
- Knowledge of State Health Regulations
- Serve Safe Certification preferred
