Establish and maintain master cleaning schedules, conduct audits and inspections of kitchens and dining rooms. Monitor food and equipment temperatures, perform test trays and meal rounds, and take corrective action for noncompliance. Reduce or eliminate risks of deficiencies by creating and executing corrective action plans.Collaborate with the Dietary management to develop and evaluate regular and therapeutic diets, ensuring nutritional adequacy. Execute dietary orders, process diet changes, and maintain updated diet and allergy rosters. Greet new residents, gather food preferences, and maintain effective communication regarding dietary needs. Develop and implement person-centered nutrition education for staff and residents.Oversee food preparation, service and storage to ensure quality, accuracy, and attractive presentation. Direct setup and service in dining rooms, including special events, theme meals, and banquets. Ensure timely and accurate therapeutic diet distribution and supplement preparation. Monitor quality indicators and participate in QAPI and quality improvement audits.Assist in developing and managing annual operating and capital budgets. Monitor financial performance, purchasing and inventory control; maintain records of meals served and monthly purchase summaries. Manage procurement of food, supplies, and equipment; oversee inventories, audits, and surplus product utilization. Control resources and materials, including menus, small wares, cleaning supplies, linens and dining room equipment.Recruit, hire, schedule, and supervise dietary and dining staff; oversee payroll and performance evaluations. Direct and support Assistant Managers and Supervisors in completing assignments. Conduct staff training programs, including ServSafe certification, food safety, and production skills. Develop and manage employee in-service training and establish internal equity among staff.Maintain effective communication and working relationships with residents, staff and other departments. Act as liaison for special functions and coordinate events with Recreation and other departments. Participate in daily production and weekly communication meetings with staff. Support leadership in reporting, audits and departmental planning.What You Need as a Dining Services Manager:A bachelor's degree in hotel/hospitality management or equivalent, minimum of five years of supervisor experience in hospitality industry or completion of an approved training program to attain proficiency in developing and maintaining high quality of dining services with three years supervisory experience in managing an upscale dining environment preferred.Excellent written and oral communication and proficiency with computer applications.Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) preferred.CPR and First Aid with ands-on skills testing required upon or within three months of hire.
