Compass Intervention Center is located in Southwest Tennessee. This convenient location provides access to larger communities in Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas. We work with children and families throughout the United States, including military families overseas. Compass Intervention Center is a free standing residential treatment center open to male and female children and adolescents from ages 10 to 17. Residential treatment , virtual programs , intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization services are available to male and female adolescents ages 10 to 17.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Business Office Director (BOD) is responsible for providing leadership and direction for the Business Office and Accounts Receivable Management services of the hospital and related services. This responsibility includes managing the services in a manner which will contribute to the achievement of hospital financial and clinical goals and which promotes the development of teamwork and effective operations throughout the hospital. It is the BOD's responsibility to manage the department in a manner which enables the hospital to achieve its cash collection and accounts receivable goals.

Business Office Director Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintaining bad debt, A/R days, credit balances, up front collections, and overall cash collections at established goals.
  • Managing and directing the business office staff, including Financial Counseling, Billing, Collections, and Data Entry.
  • Ensuring that Medicare is bad debt is processed per corporate policy
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of all month end and corporate reports as assigned.
  • Managing all billing department processes including verification of insurance, cash posting, conducting audits, maintaining Managed Care rates, and all other applicable functions .

Qualifications

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in business administration or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience : Minimum of 2 -5 years of experience required in insurance verification and/or insurance billing. Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in related-field preferred. Previous experience as a Business Office Manager with 3-5 years direct supervisory oversight of department personnel is preferred. Must be thoroughly familiar with computer systems and PC spreadsheet preparation. Must know industry-standard billing and collection procedures and be familiar with Medicare, Medicaid and insurance company billing requirements.

Additional Requirements: Looking for a great team leader and mentor to staff. Responsible for Corporate reporting and analysis, managed care, third party reimbursement, management of accounts receivable, i.e., bad debt and cash collections. Experience with computers and business software programs, particularly Excel. Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid billing requirements a must with hands on management for all daily activities of the admitting, billing and collection functions.

Preferred Skills: Knowledge of general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and collections a plus.
