Job Summary

Works with multiple hospital, market and system department heads to develop, implement and monitor budgets, operations, policies and procedures, new technologies, personnel matters, staff development and other management functions of the facility. Ensures all areas of the facility are in compliance with all local, state, federal and joint commission regulations. Participates in the facility, larger campus facilities, system, Heart and Vascular Institute and strategic planning process. Works with Medical Group operations and the executive leadership of the Heart and Vascular Institute.

Essential Functions

  • Directs, administers, and coordinates all activities of the heart hospital and other assigned campus, market, system clinical and operational programs, services and service lines. Works collaboratively with campus, market and system leadership, other executives, physicians and facility department leadership to help improve operational and financial performance, including improved labor productivity, cost management, revenue capture, improved clinical, quality, patient experience and team member engagement outcomes measures.

  • Ensures development of assistant administrators, executive directors, department directors, managers and supervisors in his/her reporting structure.

  • Ensures areas or responsibility are in compliance with all applicable state, federal, joint commission and other regulatory agency requirements.

  • Develops and oversees in collaboration with facility and campus financial leadership the annual budget for assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Develops policies and procedures for the effective operation of hospital services and initiatives corrective action if services do not meet standards.

  • Prepares presentations, reports and other information for the executive team as requested. May present information at management team meetings.

  • Assists the COO/Administrator in the development of long and short range operational and strategic plans which may include service demand analysis, resources availability analysis, productivity and cost benefit analysis of service and staff expansions. This may include oversight of implementation of the reorganization of hospital services as requested.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibility

  • Job has direct and/or indirect supervision of team members that may include final budget authority, hire/termination authority, performance appraisal responsibility and disciplinary authority. Job will be considered a member of management staff at Prisma Health Company or affiliate and will have direct reports.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education - Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or a related field of study.

  • Experience - Five (5) years of hospital leadership experience. Completion of postgraduate fellowship in a larger complex healthcare organization preferred
