Position Summary
The director collaborates with other nursing leaders, medical directors, and portfolio leaders to advance strategy and operational direction for the inpatient mental health unit and mental health care teams. This role coordinates efforts across departments and services by providing clinical and administrative leadership and expertise. The director facilitates an atmosphere of inclusive, situational management and the development of collegial relationships among department employees and other healthcare disciplines consistent with Children''s values and Magnet model guiding principles. This position has a major responsibility for the implementation of the organization''s mission, vision, values, code of conduct, evidence-based nursing practice, within their defined areas of responsibility and considering clinical needs of the population across the care continuum. They support the utilization of technology in care delivery, to improve access and service quality.
The Director of Mental Health has responsibility and accountability to ensure that mental health services and programs provided in the emergency departments and inpatient mental health unit are patient/family focused, clinically excellent, operationally efficient, and achieve effective outcomes in clinical quality, safety, cost, experience, and staff engagement. The director will play a critical role in fostering a healthy working environment that is conducive to all employees and aligns with our principles of diversity, equity and inclusion. The director advocates for and maximizes the use of available resources to ensure the delivery of efficient, safe, and compassionate clinical care based on current standards of practice and evidence. They have accountability for nursing practice in all areas of responsibility and provides leadership to promote shared decision making.

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. Annual salaries displayed are based on full-time employment (40 standard hrs per week). Annual salaries for part-time positions will be prorated based on the employee's scheduled weekly hours in relation to the full-time standard. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.
In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
