DIR-PATIENT FINANCIAL SRVCS

eneral Summary/Responsibilities:

• The Director of Patient Financial Services is responsible for the management, direction and coordination of the following functions for Premier Health: Billing, Collections, Customer Service, HCAP/Self-Pay, Cash Posting, Refunds, Vendor Management, Medicaid Eligibility and Revenue Cycle Analytics. This position is responsible for the development, implementation, and direction of appropriate revenue cycle policies, procedures, and processes and is responsible to ensure consistency of these functions for Premier Health. The Director works with other Premier Health Directors to redesign current workflows to improve efficiencies and productivity, as well as enhance the communication between departments.

• The position has the responsibility to ensure that financial goals and key performance indicators are established for the department to meet the organization strategic plan. Maintains excellent patient, physician, and payer relationships through a proactive customer service-oriented approach. This position also oversees the services of vendors and business partners of Premier Health. It is this position's responsibility to ensure employees and business partners understand and comply with all state and federal regulations. Must be able to collaborate and interact with all levels of management of the Premier Health including Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Vice Presidents, and Directors to establish, implement and achieve the organization's philosophies, goals and objectives, and patient and employee satisfaction.

Experience

Minimum Level of Experience Required: 5 - 7 years of job related experience

Preferred experience: 5-7 years of revenue cycle management experience

Knowledge/Skills

• Demonstrated proficiency in strategic decision making, process improvement, utilizing technical systems to drive change, and coaching/mentoring staff for engagement.

• Certification in Revenue Cycle Management or more than 10 years revenue cycle operational experience is preferred.

• Personal characteristics include proven leadership and problem-solving skills, as well as evidence of critical thinking capabilities, drive for results, team motivation, and strategic agility. Organizational agility and an open, receptive management style are also critical for success.

• Strong interpersonal skills necessary to interact with physicians, multiple departments, all levels of management including the CFO, COO, Vice Presidents and Directors are essential.

• Strong technical aptitude for system optimization.

• Must have the ability to communicate, motivate, and facilitate change across multiple departments.

• Must have excellent communication skills, proven leadership skills, and advanced interpersonal skills necessary to provide effective leadership to staff and to maintain effective communication with a variety of internal and external customers.

• Must possess strong analytical and technical skills.

• Must have sophisticated data collection skills including a strong technical background in Excel and the other Microsoft suite of products.
