Overview:

The Director of Enterprise Applications and Data Platforms directs, plans, coordinates and leads the Enterprise Applications team; provides strategic and operational direction for enterprise-wide business data applications, web-based technologies, Mobile, Business Intelligence; ensures successful user experience (UX) for applications and oversee successful quality assurance (QA) and release management; and supervises professional and technical assigned personnel.  The Director of Enterprise Applications and Data Platforms is a forward-looking technology leader who can develop strategies for software selection, deployment, implementation, and integration into daily operations.

Responsibilities:

• Strategic Planning and Management: Developing and executing the strategic roadmap for enterprise applications to ensure alignment with the organization's goals and objectives.
• Vendor Management: Selecting and managing relationships with software vendors to ensure that the enterprise applications meet performance expectations and contractual obligations. This includes negotiating contracts, handling escalations, and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
• Implementation and Integration: Leading the implementation of enterprise applications, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems. This includes project planning, resource allocation, timeline management, and overseeing the configuration and customization of applications.
• Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Monitoring the performance and usage of enterprise applications to ensure they meet business needs.
• Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating risks associated with enterprise applications, including security vulnerabilities, compliance issues, and system failures. This involves implementing robust security measures and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.
• Enable and implement analytics and expand the role of the current reporting capabilities by building system integration and data sharing across commercial platforms with architectures that standardize and simplify data management.
• Ensure operational security of enterprise applications and SaaS by coordinating with cyber security and implement and regularly test a robust Incident Response, Disaster Recovery, and Business Continuity Plans.
• Provide thought leadership and innovation to enable and develop forward looking automation solutions that may include IoT (Internet of Things) and AI technologies.
• Identify emerging technology trends, especially in the area of Software as a service (Saas) and cloud computing to include API, robotic process automation, artificial intelligence, machine learning and other digital technologies
• Communicating technological solutions that will improve business operations based on research, capability, integration ability and cost.
• Driving cultural change by instituting a continuous delivery model that fosters focus on automation of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Working with business leaders to develop training and deployment plans aimed at maximizing both user adoption and realization of business benefits.
• Partner with the VP IT and IT Leadership Team to build and modernize the organizational structure and business processes to support our growth in an increasingly digital world.
• Manage a staff of technology professionals, hire and train new staff, conduct performance reviews, and provide leadership and coaching, including technical and personal development programs for team members.
• Drive a collaborative culture that values technical depth, accountability, and customer service.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in information systems, information technology, or equivalent work experience; an MBA or M.S. in information technology or data science is desired.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in technology leadership positions with an emphasis on application delivery and data platforms.
• Proven experience in managing complex solutions portfolios including both business and operational solutions.
• Proven experience with creating and managing outsourced relationships, both domestic and global.
• Experience migrating applications (commercial and internally developed) into a cloud solution (SaaS).
• Experience managing large vendor relationships (ex: Oracle, SAP, Sales Force, Autodesk, ADP, Microsoft)
• Experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) framework and using it to standardize the selection, planning, delivery, maintenance and overall lifecycle of applications
• Experience successfully engaging and managing contract resources.
• Experience developing and maintaining policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.
