The Direct Care / Personal Care Assistant will function under the direction of the nurse-in-charge in the delivery of personal patient care to the residents in Personal Care.  

• Plan and complete patient care assignments, assist patients with all activities of daily living
• Maintain and ensure the personal rights of all patients through knowledge of and advocacy of the Patient Bill of Rights
• Establish safe and accurate working habits in the delivery of individual patient care
• Participate in ongoing education to extend knowledge and improve skills as required by DHS
• Participate in the individual patient plan of care as part of the interdisciplinary team
• Participate in the orientation of new staff members
