Job Description: Direct Delivery Caregiver

Position Overview

The role of a Direct Delivery Caregiver in a Child Treatment Center is pivotal in ensuring the well-being, safety, and overall development of residents. This position involves working closely with individuals who are undergoing therapeutic treatment for various challenges, including mental health concerns, substance abuse recovery, trauma, and behavioral issues. The caregiver serves as a compassionate guide and support system, fostering a nurturing environment conducive to healing and growth.


Responsibilities


Resident Care and Support


      Provide direct care and supervision to residents, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
      Assist residents in daily activities, including meals, hygiene routines, and recreational activities.
      Foster positive relationships with residents by promoting trust, respect, and open communication.
      Provide encouragement and motivation during therapeutic activities and personal development tasks.



Safety and Environment Management


      Maintain a safe and structured environment, adhering to the center’s policies and procedures.
      Monitor residents to prevent harm to themselves or others and address any safety concerns promptly.
      Ensure cleanliness and order within the residential facility, including communal spaces and resident rooms.
      Address conflicts and intervene in crisis situations with effective de-escalation techniques.



Collaboration with Treatment Teams


      Work closely with LCCA, Program Director, Treatment Director, therapists, counselors, Case Managers and medical staff to implement individualized treatment plans.
      Participate in staff meetings and share observations about resident progress and challenges.
      Assist in the coordination of therapeutic and educational programs as directed by the clinical team.



Documentation and Reporting


      Maintain accurate and timely records of resident activities, behaviors, and incidents.
      Document observations and report significant changes in resident status to relevant staff members.
      Complete paperwork related to treatment plans, progress reports, and compliance requirements.


Qualifications


Educational Requirements


      High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional education in social work, psychology, or a related field is preferred.
      Certification in first aid and CPR is often required or can be obtained during employment.



Skills and Competencies


      Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
      Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help residents achieve their goals.
      Ability to handle stressful situations and respond to emergencies calmly and effectively.
      Organizational skills for managing daily tasks and maintaining accurate documentation.
      Knowledge of mental health and addiction recovery principles (preferred).



Experience


      Previous experience in caregiving, counseling, or related fields is highly valued.
      Experience working in a residential treatment center or similar environment is a plus.
