Position Summary
As a Direct Service Provider (DSP), you will support individuals with developmental disabilities in developing daily living and community-based skills that promote independence and personal growth. You will provide direct support in clients' homes and throughout the community, helping individuals achieve their goals while maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys meaningful, hands-on work, thrives in a dynamic environment, and wants to build a rewarding career in human services. Flexible scheduling options are available, including weekday, evening, and weekend shifts, with both full-time and part-time opportunities.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist individuals in developing and maintaining independent living skills such as budgeting, meal planning, comparative shopping, and daily routines.
- Provide transportation and support for medical appointments, recreational activities, and community involvement.
- Support personal care needs and homemaker tasks to ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment.
- Respond appropriately to daily challenges using sound judgment, patience, and problem-solving skills.
- Build positive, respectful relationships with individuals served, families, and team members.
- Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

Qualifications
- Compassionate, dependable, and motivated individuals with a desire to support people with developmental disabilities.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Valid Ohio driver's license, reliable transportation, current auto insurance, and vehicle registration required.
- Willingness to travel throughout Portage County, including Wyndham.
- Ability to pass background checks and meet driving record requirements.
- Previous experience in human services or caregiving is preferred but not required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting pay: From $17.00 per hour
- Full-time and part-time opportunities available
- Flexible scheduling including evenings and weekends
- Mileage reimbursement for work-related travel within Portage County, including Wyndham
