Direct Support Professional Apprentice Earn and Learn

Direct Care Professional Apprentice, North Star Community Services, is dedicated to providing pathways to in-demand careers in human services. Our Direct Support Professional Apprenticeship Program allows individuals to learn and earn while gaining valuable experience and skills. Over the course of one year, apprentices benefit from personalized mentoring and a structured training program designed to lead to a nationally recognized certificate of completion.

As an apprentice, you will

• Participate in comprehensive training programs, including self-paced, technology-based, classroom instruction, and shadowing.
• Work alongside experienced mentors who guide you through the apprenticeship process. -
• Gain hands-on experience in various services offered by North Star Community Services. -
• Complete over 140 hours of related training while receiving a competitive wage. -
• Progress to potential leadership roles, such as Team Leader or mentor to new apprentices upon program completion.

**Required Skills and Qualifications:** - Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with individuals receiving care. - Ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy in a direct care environment. - Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges within the human services field. - Basic computer literacy to engage with technology-based training materials.
